Dr. Mark Hetzer is a native of San Antonio, Texas where he grew up and graduated high school. He began his college career at University of Texas San Antonio where he originally studied architecture. Dr. Hetzer has always had an interest in design and function which is what drew him to the study of architecture.
While in college he became interested in the field of personal training and went on to achieve this certification. He began serving his community at a local gym where he realized he enjoyed working with the public, again focusing on form and function. His interest in the human body began to flourish causing him to re-think his degree track. He began investigating a career in medicine which included shadowing a local chiropractor. It was through this exposure that Dr. Hetzer realized he had a particular interest in helping people fix themselves.
He went on to attend and graduate from Texas Chiropractic College where he earned his doctoral degree in chiropractic as well as a bachelor in human biology. While attending Texas Chiropractic College, he worked as a personal trainer for the global brand 24 Hour Fitness. He progressed to managing the personal trainer program at the Pasadena and Pearland locations. He gained valuable experience managing and training other personal trainers within this organization. He joined Peak Performance Spine & Sports Medicine to begin
his practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Dr. Hetzer is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Texas Chiropractic Association and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. His personal interests include functional fitness training, basketball and football. He loves watching Formula1 and MotoGP race events. Dr. Hetzer loves to learn about people and exploring new places as well. He and his wife, Ashley, a pharmacist are proud parents of their beautiful daughter, Alba and they reside in League City, TX.
